What Does the Bible say about some of these
everyday issuses?
Anger - My dear
brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to
become angry. (James : 1:19,20)
They refused to listen and failed to remember the miracles
you performed among them. They became stiff-necked and in their rebellion appointed a
leader in order to return to their slavery. But you are a forgiving God, gracious and
compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love. Therefore you did not desert
them. (Nehemiah 9:17)
In your anger do not sin; when you are on your
beds, search your hearts and be silent. Selah (Psalm 4)
The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding
in love. (Psalm 103:8)
Assurance of Salvation - "For
God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him
will not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
11For his unfailing
love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. 12He has removed our rebellious acts as far away from us as the
east is from the west. 13The LORD is like a father to his
children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.
(Psalm 103:11-13)
LORD, if you kept a record of our sins, who, O
Lord, could ever survive? 4But you offer forgiveness, that we
might learn to fear you. (Psalm
130:3-4)
Abortion -
O LORD, You have searched me and known me. 2 You
know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. 3 You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted
with all my ways. 4 For there is not a word on
my tongue, But behold, O LORD, You know it altogether. 5
You have hedged me behind and before, And laid Your hand upon me. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for
me; It is high, I cannot attain it. 7
Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? 8 If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed
in hell, behold, You are there. 9 If I
take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the
sea, 10 Even there Your hand shall lead me, And
Your right hand shall hold me. 11 If I say,
Surely the darkness shall fall on me, Even the night shall be light about
me; 12 Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from
You, But the night shines as the day;
The darkness and the light are both alike to You.13
For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mothers womb. 14 I will
praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well. 15 My frame
was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully
wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 16 Your eyes
saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them. 17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O
God! How great is the sum of them! 18 If
I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am
still with You. 19 Oh, that You would slay the wicked,
O God! Depart from me, therefore, you bloodthirsty men. 20
For they speak against You wickedly; Your enemies take Your name in
vain. 21 Do I not hate them, O LORD, who hate
You? And do I not loathe those who rise up against You? 22 I hate them with perfect hatred; I count them my enemies.
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try
me, and know my anxieties; 24 And see if there is
any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting. (Pslam 139)
Adoption - Defend the poor and fatherless; Do justice to the afflicted
and needy.
Deliver the poor and needy; Free them from the hand of the wicked. (Psalm 82:3-4)
Angels - But angels are only servants. They are spirits sent from
God to care for those who will receive salvation. (Hebrews
1:14)
For he orders his angels to protect you wherever
you go. 12 They will hold you with their hands to keep
you from striking your foot on a stone. 13You will trample
down lions and poisonous snakes; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!
14The LORD says, "I will rescue those who love
me. I will protect those who trust in my name. (Psalm91 11-14)
"Beware that you don't despise a single one
of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels are always in the
presence of my heavenly Father. (Matthew 18:10)
Complaining -
Do everything without complaining or arguing, (Philippians
2:14)
Contentment - I
rejoice greatly in the Lord that at last you have renewed your concern for me. Indeed, you
have been concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it. I am not saying this because I
am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is
to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being
content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty
or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength. (Philippians
4:10-13)
